Silk Screen Printing Machine for Cotton Tape
Cotton tape is a soft, flexible, and absorbent narrow fabric used for garment labels, care labels, packaging, and decorative tapes. Its surface can be rough, and that is where printing quality is tested: unclear letters, incomplete coverage, and inaccurate registration are common on cotton tape when the machine cannot hold tension and registration stable.
The LX-303G series is an automatic screen printing machine built for cotton tape and cotton labels. It combines a 300 × 700 mm printing table, 3-color printing, servo rotation and frame up/down control to keep the tape stable and the print sharp — even on rough cotton surfaces.
Cotton Tape Characteristics
• Soft, flexible and absorbent
• Low stretch compared with elastic tape, but still sensitive to tension changes
• Surface can be rough or slightly uneven
• Common widths up to 300 mm
• Most cotton tapes are thin; the thickest we have printed is about 0.5–1 mm
• Used for garment labels, care labels, packaging tapes and decorative tapes
Printing Challenges on Cotton Tape
Rough surface
Ink does not transfer evenly on a rough surface. Without stable pressure and registration, letters can look broken, edges can be unclear and coverage can be incomplete.
Registration and tension
Cotton tape can shift or crease during feeding. If tension is not controlled, the print position moves and multi-color registration suffers.
Ink absorption
Cotton absorbs ink quickly. The wrong ink viscosity or too much ink can cause bleeding, while too little ink gives weak, incomplete prints.
Color consistency
Different rolls or batches of cotton tape can vary in surface and absorbency, so the same ink and screen may look different from roll to roll.
Recommended LX-303G Configuration
Recommended platform: LX-303G
• 3 colors per run
• Printing table: 300 × 700 mm
• Effective print area: 280 × 650 mm
• Max speed: up to 760 m/h per tape
• Max power: 22 kW / 380 V
• Dimensions: 11.6 × 1.1 × 1.3 m
• Weight: 2,000 kg
• Servo rotation, frame up/down, double-sided precise printing
• Free on-site installation and training; online support
The same platform is also strong at double-sided precise printing and black material with white ink. Other color configurations are available in the LX-303G series.
Ink and Settings
Ordinary oil-based and water-based inks are commonly used for cotton tape. Silicone inks require testing with the actual cotton tape and artwork. Mesh count, squeegee hardness, drying temperature and machine speed depend on the artwork, ink, and material; we confirm them with a sample test before production.
Quality Checks
The main check for cotton tape is the final print effect:
• Font clarity — letters and small text are sharp and readable
• Print completeness — full coverage without missing dots or broken edges
• Registration — multi-color layers stay in position
• Color consistency — the same shade across the roll and between rolls
Applications
The LX-303G series is used by cotton label and cotton tape producers for:
• Garment labels and care labels
• Cotton tapes and cotton labels
• Packaging tapes
• Decorative tapes and trims
• Lanyards and other narrow fabric products
It is also suitable for customers who need a cotton tape printing machine for sampling, medium, and large production.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What widths can the machine print?
Cotton tape widths up to 300 mm. Send your exact width and thickness for confirmation.
2. What thickness can it handle?
Most cotton tapes we print are thin. The thickest we have run is about 0.5–1 mm. Send your specification for evaluation.
3. What inks are used for cotton tape?
Ordinary oil-based and water-based inks are commonly used. Silicone inks require testing with the actual material and artwork.
4. What are the common printing problems on cotton tape?
Rough surfaces can cause unclear print, incomplete coverage, and inaccurate registration. The LX-303G-3C uses stable feeding, servo rotation, and frame up/down control to keep the tape and print position stable.
5. What quality checks do you recommend?
Check font clarity, print completeness, registration, and color consistency. The final print effect is the main standard for cotton tape.
6. Do you provide installation and training?
Yes. Free on-site installation and training are included for this screen printing machine, plus online support whenever you have a question or production issue.
7. Can you test our cotton tape and artwork?
Yes. Send your cotton tape, artwork, and ink type; we will test the print and recommend the machine settings.
8. What is the warranty?
1 year as standard.
Send us your cotton tape width, thickness, artwork, and ink type. We will test the print and recommend the right LX-303G-3C configuration. Free on-site installation and training are included.

Why should use a silk screen printing machine for cotton tape?
Silk screen printing is a popular printing method that involves pressing ink through a fine mesh screen onto a substrate. It is commonly used for printing onto a variety of materials, including textiles, plastics, and metals. The process involves creating a stencil of the desired design on the screen, which is then coated with ink and pressed onto the substrate using a squeegee.
One important tool in silk screen printing is the silk screen printing machine. These machines are designed to accurately and efficiently apply ink to the desired substrate using the silk screen printing process. There are various types of silk screen printing machines available on the market, each with their own unique features and capabilities.
When it comes to printing on cotton tape, a specialized silk screen printing machine is often necessary to achieve the desired results. Cotton tape is a thin, flexible strip of fabric that is often used for packaging, labeling, and other decorative applications. It is a popular choice for silk screen printing due to its durability and versatility.
To print on cotton tape using a silk screen printing machine, the tape is first prepared by unwinding it from a roll and stretching it onto a frame. The frame is then placed onto the printing machine, which is equipped with a screen that has been coated with the desired design. The machine then applies ink to the screen, which is pressed through the mesh and onto the cotton tape.
There are several factors to consider when selecting a silk screen printing machine for cotton tape. One important factor is the size of the machine, as it should be able to accommodate the width and length of the tape being printed on. The machine should also be able to handle the thickness of the tape and the type of ink being used.
Another factor to consider is the speed of the machine, as this will affect the overall efficiency of the printing process. High-speed machines are typically preferred for large-scale production, while slower machines may be more suitable for small runs or custom projects.
In addition to the basic features of the machine, there are also various optional features that may be useful for certain applications. For example, some machines may come equipped with advanced drying systems to speed up the drying process, or with automatic feeding and take-up systems to streamline the process of loading and unloading the tape.
Overall, a silk screen printing machine is an essential tool for anyone looking to print on cotton tape. Whether you are a small business owner looking to produce custom labels or a large manufacturer looking to produce large quantities of printed tape, there is a silk screen printing machine that can meet your needs. With the right machine, you can achieve high-quality, professional-grade prints on cotton tape in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
