    Double-sided Sublimation Printing Machine
  • Heat Transfer Printing Machines: Film Printing, 3D Effects & Sublimation Transfer

Compare roll-to-roll, piece-to-piece and double-sided sublimation machines for labels, ribbons and patches. Multi-pass 3D effects and full-color transfer. Get a quote.

    Two Transfer Workflows

There are two different ways to produce transfer-printed ribbons, labels, and narrow fabrics. They use different equipment and fit different order profiles.

    1. Film printing route

A roll-to-roll or piece-to-piece film screen printing machine prints the design onto heat transfer film or transfer paper. A heat transfer press or calender then applies the printed film/paper to the final material. Both machines can also build a raised 3D effect on the printed film by repeating the print pass.

    2. Sublimation route

A digital printer prints the design onto sublimation paper. A double-sided sublimation machine then transfers it onto textile tapes.

The right route depends on your material format, design complexity, order size, and the equipment you already have.

    Which Route Fits Your Production?

Choose the film printing route if:

    • You need heat transfer film or transfer paper in rolls or cut sheets.

    • Your designs use spot colors, and you want a cost-effective screen-printed transfer.

    • You want multi-color or raised 3D effects from repeated overprinting.

    • You already have a heat press or calender, or you want us to package one with the printer.

    • You print on paper, film, or selected roll leather.

    Choose the sublimation route if:

    • Your designs are full-color or photographic.

    • You need to transfer onto textile tapes, single- or double-sided.

    • You already have a digital printer, or you want us to supply a matching one.

    • You need short runs and fast design changes.

    The Three Machines

    1. Roll-to-Roll Heat Transfer Film Printing Machine

Best for: roll paper, roll film ,and selected roll leather; continuous production for labels, ribbons, patches and narrow fabrics.

It uses a single print head. Multi-color designs are produced by multiple overprint passes with different screens and inks; raised 3D effects are built by repeating the same pass to increase ink thickness. This keeps the machine compact and cost-effective.

    2. Piece-to-Piece Heat Transfer Film Printing Machine

Best for: cut sheets, patches, and small-batch production. It has the same printing function as the roll-to-roll model, including multi-pass overprinting for multi-color and raised 3D effects, but feeds individual sheets and cannot print rolls.

Full specifications: Piece-to-Piece Heat Transfer Film Printing Machine

    3. Double-Sided Sublimation Transfer Machine

Best for: transferring digitally printed sublimation paper onto textile tapes, single- or double-sided. It requires a digital printer to print the design on sublimation paper first.

    Materials and Applications

    Materials

    • Heat transfer film and transfer paper: PET, PVC, BOPP, and other roll or sheet films.

    • Roll paper, roll film, and selected roll leather (roll-to-roll).

    • Cut sheets (piece-to-piece paper or films).

    • Sublimation paper for textile tapes (sublimation route).

    Applications

Garment labels, care labels, brand labels, patches, premium 3D labels and patches, and other narrow-fabric products.

What to Check Before You Buy

    1. Material format: roll or cut sheet? This decides between roll-to-roll and piece-to-piece.
    2. Design and color: spot colors or full-color/photographic? Film printing is cost-effective for spot colors; sublimation is better for full-color digital designs.
    3. Material thickness and stretch: thin films, leather, and elastic tapes need different tension and transfer settings.
    4. Heat press/calender: the film printer produces the transfer, but you still need a heat press or calender to apply it. We can include one in a packaged solution, but do not sell it as a standalone machine.
    5. Digital printer: the sublimation route needs a digital printer. We can supply a matching digital printer, or you can source one locally.
    6. Output and changeover: roll-to-roll for continuous orders; piece-to-piece for both large and small batches and sheet work; sublimation for full-color tape designs.
    7. 3D/raised effect: repeated passes increase the relief but reduce output and consume more ink. Confirm the number of passes and ink system with a sample before production.

    Common Challenges

    • Registration across multiple overprint passes — screen and substrate alignment.
    • Color consistency on long runs — ink viscosity, squeegee pressure, and drying.
    • Film stretch and distortion — tension control on roll-to-roll and thin films.
    • Adhesion on leather, film, and textile tapes — surface treatment and transfer temperature/pressure.
    • Sublimation paper curl, moisture and transfer marks — paper handling and drum settings.
    • Heat press/calender settings — temperature, pressure, and dwell time for the final material.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    1. Do the film screen printing machines print directly onto the final product?

    It includes two situations:

    • They print heat transfer film or paper. A heat transfer press or calender then applies the design to the final material.
    • Directly print on leather or other materials that need to be printed on the final substrates

    2. Can one print head produce multi-color work?

Yes. The head prints one color per pass; multiple overprint passes with different screens and inks produce multi-color designs.

    3. Can these machines produce 3D effects?

Yes. By repeating the print pass with the same screen and ink, the film printer can build a raised 3D effect. The number of passes controls the relief; we recommend a sample test to confirm the height and adhesion.

    4. What is the difference between the roll-to-roll and piece-to-piece machines?

They use the same printing function. Roll-to-roll handles roll materials; piece-to-piece handles cut sheets and cannot print rolls.

    5. What does the sublimation machine need to run?

A digital printer to print the design on sublimation paper. The sublimation machine then transfers it to textile tapes.

    6. Can you supply the heat press/calender and digital printer?

We can include a heat press or calender in a packaged solution with the film printer, but do not sell it as a standalone machine. For sublimation, we can supply a matching digital printer, or you can buy one locally.

    7. Can you test our material and design?

Yes. Send your material, film/paper, and artwork; we will recommend the workflow and machine configuration.

Tell us your material (roll paper, film, leather or textile tape), design, colors and output. We will recommend the right transfer workflow and machine configuration.
